Week # 6 May 20- 24
Friday: OA Coldest/Hottest places in CA.
Repaired chicken cage - installed 2 x 4 to bottom with wheels.
ThursdayOA Tallest Tree/Deepest Lake CA.
Inside: Used cement to make planter out of 2 liter coke bottle. Experimenting for next school year.
Wednesday:OA Rainfall in CA./Upland
RAIN! I had some students out with the chickens and then the thunder and rain.
I found this statement wonderful.
Tuesday Student made and installed shelving for the new shed #1. We had some moisture today. I started picking food from Pomona feed using Title 1 funding. Per 7 stayed indoors and worked on iMovie.
Monday- Student made and installed shelving for the new shed #1. Student cut and installed a stoop for the bachelor pad coop area.
Week objective:
It is amazing the seasons of the school year. This time of year, for me, the quarter is flying. Still so much stuff to do! End of the year video, slide show, completion of the bachelor pad, work inside the new sheds, and some new projects. I would like to take a week for the students to learn about rocketry (tie this in with the math classes), and maybe a project on building a plant holder out of cement in a mold. But we will see what activities the students are motivated to do.

ways to add paint best to the piece of wood.

W3 Teacher Field Trip
This Week Mr. Connor, Mrs. Haver, Ms Garcia and Mrs. Abris went to a school in San Diego called High Tech High to be educated on how they deliver curriculum to their students. They use a method called PBL, project based learning. It looks like a cool concept. So we are going to share what we saw with the rest of the HHS staff and see if we can implement some PBL here. But in all honesty we have. You all have been involved with the building of the garden and the farm, similar concept, the only difference is that all or most of your curriculum would be based on the farm, not just one class.
